We, the four authors (Ion M. Anghel, Ion Diaconu, Ioan Maxim and Aurel Preda) , have all attained juridical training (with scientific titles of PhD in Law; some of us are holders of a doctor honoris causa title, or possess “The Nicolae Titulescu International Award”, as well as other scientific rewards and distinctions for outstanding contributions in the field of international law and international relations). For a number of decades, we have carried out our activity with the Romanian diplomacy – in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (and have held successive titles or positions of ambassadors, directors and others of the kind). We have also acted substantially in the academic life (both didactic and scientific). Each of us has published dozens of books on international law and on the European Union. But above all, we have never forgotten we are Romanians (even if we worked abroad for extended periods of time). Above all, we felt bound to this country (even if significant periods of time we lived abroad) and we do love Romania to the limits of sacrifice, the country we have served with devotion and dignity, for her good and the good of the people who have been living within these realms for centuries. While overseas, for decades, we felt bound to the country and to our families.
